Project Overview
LearnToCompose is a whole-class composition project aimed at primary pupils. Across six lessons, pupils build confidence by exploring:
- pulse (steady beat)
- rhythm and ostinatos (repeating rhythms)
- simple cues (signals) to start, stop and change the music
Pupils begin with body & untuned percussion, then some pupils add melody using one note (A) or one chord (A minor). The project ends with a short class performance.
