Additional resources that help to support your teaching

Resources at Musical Futures Online have been created to help teachers of all ages to deliver practical, authentic and relevant music lessons that effectively engage all pupils in learning music using readily available instruments.
Our resources continue to build on the original tried and tested approaches of the Musical Futures ethos and pedagogy. They are, however, intended to be used in collaboration with your own teaching methods.
This page features a range of additional materials that can be combined with other resources to support and assist your ways of teaching.
From the History of Jazz to Video Game Soundtracks, we’ve prepared a range of authentic music playlists for you to use in class, whether it be for listening exercises or for gaining more of an understanding of your chosen topic.

Explore and gain a basic understanding of Traditional Samba Instruments, or learn more about the role of each cymbal & drum with Parts of a Drum Kit and more, with new posters added regularly.
Freely downloadable for all members, these A3 posters are immediately accessible in a PDF format for use in your classroom.

Across our library, we supply a wide selection of the music either specified as study pieces, suggested areas of study or repertoires in the most relevant exam board specifications and guidance for music teaching in the UK.
These resources are designed to support your teaching. Select an organisation below to see which resources best support your curriculum.
If you’re a member, every resource at Musical Futures Online can be used in any way you like and we have some resources in particular that have been specifically provided to be a helping hand.
Whilst Musical Futures Online contains a vast amount of useful resources, we’re very aware that there are other fantastic resources available that may also support you. We’ve listed some of our favourites below.
