Sample Resources   ChairDrumming – Eye Of The Tiger

About this sample resource

This sample resource is part the ChairDrumming resource collection.

ChairDrumming is great for developing rhythm, pulse and co-ordination, leading to the transferring of these skills to a drum kit.  It’s also lots of fun too and has been used widely in schools with pupils of all ages, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In this playalong you will learn how to:

  • Use the video tutorial to master some of the fundamentals of drumming….using a chair!
  • Play along to one of our energetic ChairDrumming tracks of a popular classic whilst developing the basics of playing the drums ready to transfer to the real instrument
  • This ChairDrumming Playalong is for Eye Of The Tiger by Survivor

If you’re new to ChairDrumming we recommend viewing our Introduction video at the top of this page.

Eye Of The Tiger – Survivor
(SLOW)

  • No drums to begin with, so make sure you count carefully and come in with the famous stabbed rhythm
  • Following the introduction, the main groove of the song is made up of the kick on beats 1 and 3, the snare on beats 2 and 4 and the hi-hat on every beat
  • Keep your focus, the hi-hat drops out at some points and there’s a snare fill at the end of each chorus
