About this resource

This project focuses on dynamics (loud and quiet sounds) and is designed to be used with voice, movement, and optional percussion instruments.

Activities include warm-ups, singing, performance, composition, and listening tasks to build dynamic control, expression, and group music-making skills across 6 lessons. These musical activities will allow pupils to:

  • Recognise and explore loud and quiet sounds
  • Perform using different vocal dynamics to represent vehicles and movement
  • Copy and create vehicle sounds with appropriate dynamics and tempo
  • Compose simple rhythmic patterns that use changes in loudness
  • Develop musical vocabulary (e.g. dynamics, volume, tempo)
