About this resource

These resources continue the LearnToPlay Recorder project by building on the skills introduced in Module 1. Pupils revisit the notes B and A, then learn the notes G and C, gradually combining these notes through rhythm activities and note jam playalong tracks.

These resources are designed to support listening and performing and to enable pupils to develop the following musical skills and knowledge:

  • Produce clear, controlled sounds on the recorder
  • Follow simple musical instructions for playing
  • Play single-note rhythm patterns in time with a steady pulse, using notes B, A, G and C
  • Explore simple notation including crotchets and minims
  • Read simple scores using interactive video playalongs
  • Develop ensemble and performance skills through note jam activities
  • Perform confidently with others
