About this resource

Introduction to Music Production is designed to develop the following skills:

  • Develop basic music production techniques using BandLab
  • Effectively to create an original track using audio samples
  • Combine sets of audio samples that work well together
  • Be able to arrange and structure your own composition

Setting Up A Free BandLab Student Account

Before you start, you will need to set up a free BandLab account following the instructions below

TASK: Set Up Your Free BandLab Student Account


Step 1

Go to www.edu.bandlab.com using your internet browser on a desktop, phone or tablet and click on the blue button that says Start as a Student

Step 2

Enter the 7-digit code provided by your teacher then input your name, email address and a password, and click Sign Up. Alternatively, click Log In in the top right hand corner if you already have an account then select Join Class and enter the class code there instead

Step 3

On the left hand side you can see your class name and members and in the centre of the page you can view any assignments you may have

If you want to start a new project of your own, click the icon that looks like a folder with a musical note in it located at the very top of the page, then click Mix Editor
