In The Style Of is a collection of remix projects where students create their own music using professional sample packs from well-known songs.

Each project includes audio samples and MIDI files that students use in a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) to rearrange, develop and personalise their own remix.

These projects provide an accessible way to explore:

• musical structure and arrangement
• texture and layering
• rhythm and groove
• harmony and melody
• creative decision-making using music technology

While centred around remixing, the projects also support wider learning in composition, performance, listening and analysis.

Suitable for KS3 and beyond, In The Style Of can be delivered as a standalone unit or integrated into a wider scheme of work.
