In this lesson, pupils explore rhythm through a fun, food-based theme.

• Warm-up (singing): Join in with a song to learn and internalise three simple rhythm patterns
• Rhythm practice (body percussion): Transfer rhythms to clapping and body actions
• Rhythm performance (untuned percussion): Play the same patterns on instruments in unison
• Composition: Create a short rhythm by building a “menu” using the food items

Throughout the lesson, pupils will develop their ability to keep a steady pulse and perform rhythms using crotchets and quavers.
